Five reviewed choices: four direct provider programs and one network. Hotel-brand specialists, airline-specific offers, local transfers and travel gear remain coverage gaps.

Start with one reader's booking question; use the tables to narrow your shortlist before applying.
Choose by booking need
| Your reader's question | Start your research with | Make the page useful |
|---|---|---|
| Where should I stay? | Expedia Group: listed hotel and vacation-rental brands.1,2 | Compare location, space, transport access and the actual booking conditions. |
| Which experience fits my day? | Viator: tours and activities.3 | Explain time commitment, meeting location, inclusions and alternatives. |
| Should I rent a car? | DiscoverCars: rental-car comparisons.4 | Compare a rental with public transport; check pickup, deposit and supplier rules. |
| How do I get between places? | 12Go: trains, buses, ferries and other transport.5 | Compare departure points, connections and ticket conditions. |
For several booking needs, investigate Travelpayouts as a network route. Each advertiser still has its own offer, approval and channel rules; a brand's direct rate is not automatically its network rate.6,7,8
Compare travel programs
| Program & reader need | Direct commission | Check before applying |
|---|---|---|
| Expedia Group Stays and trip components across listed Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo-family booking sites.1,2 | Public standard rates 1.5–4% · Listed products/brands only; flights and cruises unlisted. Net Transaction Value / Rental Amount; completed verified trips. Actual account terms govern; public 7-day tracking and 60–150-day post-trip payment help have conditions.2,9 | Brand/product/site eligibility differs. Check net bases, seven-day window, later-channel exclusions and delayed cash. Flights/cruises have no listed standard rate.1,2,99,2 Conflicting terms |
| Viator Tours and activities for destination guides and itineraries.3,10,11 | Advertised direct rate 8% per booking · Completed eligible experiences; actual account rate governs. Retail Rate received by Viator net cancellations/refunds. 30-day window has arrival-click/distribution-partner exclusions; payment schedules differ.3,12 | Actual account rate governs. Return-visit exclusions and the PayPal schedule conflict matter; supplied product information has licensing and non-indexing rules.3,13,1210,12 Conflicting terms |
| DiscoverCars Rental-car booking comparisons for road trips and destination transport choices.4,14 | Public agreement rental rate 70% of profit · 30% Full Coverage profit per agreement; programme graphic says revenue. Completed eligible bookings; actual accepted base unknown. Conditional tax exception 58%/25%; Booking Credit excluded. Not a percentage of rental price.15,4 | Profit is not rental price. Same-visit/365-day wording conflicts; paid ads and review-site advertising are prohibited. Confirm permission for your publishing model.4,1514,15 Conflicting terms |
| 12Go Route guides comparing trains, buses, ferries and other transport.5,16 | Advertised profit share 50% of profit · Programme FAQ basis; headline says revenue share. Not 50% of ticket price. Confirm account Payment Option/formula; operator-site redirects and cancelled/changed tickets excluded.5,17 | Confirm the account profit formula and Payment Option. Operator-site redirects and changed/cancelled tickets are excluded; invoice frequency is not a cash date.5,1716,17 Conflicting terms |
| Travelpayouts Network access to advertiser-specific travel offers, tools, reporting and payouts.6,7,8 | Network commissions Brand-specific · Rate, base, qualifying action and tracking depend on the offer. Selected tools can change economics under applicable terms; pending bookings are not cash. Current publisher referrals use fixed milestones, not an ongoing percentage.7,8,18 | Not one merchant or blanket rate/window. Check advertiser approval, permitted channels and tool-adjusted economics; pending earnings are not payable cash.6,7,87,18 Conflicting terms |
Compare the base before the percentage. DiscoverCars and 12Go quote merchant-profit shares; Viator uses the retail rate received, net cancellations/refunds; Expedia's public schedule uses net transaction/rental amounts. A higher percentage alone cannot establish higher earnings.15,5,17,12,2,9
Travelpayouts' reviewed non-bank agreement also permits selected tools to reduce remuneration relative to the base rate. Check the actual advertiser, tool and payment-entity terms before switching links.8
A booking is not cash
Use these four checks to investigate an offer. The qualifying event and sequence vary: do not assume every network program waits for a completed trip.7,18
- Confirm payable earnings
Find the validation or confirmation rules. Travelpayouts' pending potential earnings are not yet payable balance.18
| Program | Tracking limit | Cash timing to investigate |
|---|---|---|
| DiscoverCars | Advertised 365 days conflicts with the agreement's same-visit definition; a later paid-channel visit can exclude credit.4,15 | Validation 30 days after drop-off. Amount must exceed $200; completion, invoicing and next-month-10th wording leave the exact cash clock unclear.15 |
| Viator | 30 days, with untracked-return, other-arrival-link and prior-distributor exclusions.12 | PayPal weekly/no-minimum FAQ differs from the linked agreement's month-after-experience/US$50 terms. Confirm your method.3,12 |
| 12Go | Advertised 30-day last-partner click. Another partner's later link takes credit.5 | Approved Payment Option sets threshold and invoice frequency. A fixed booking-to-cash date is unestablished; changed/cancelled tickets can reverse payment.17 |
| Expedia Group | Seven days, same device and brand; broader later-online-channel exclusions qualify help's last-affiliate-click description.21,9 | Monthly processing; help describes 60–150 days after trip completion. Above £20 / US$30 / €30, per currency per month, with details and other conditions.22,9 |
| Travelpayouts | Advertiser-specific; no universal network window.7,8 | Confirmed eligible prior-month balance and method minimum; monthly sending 11th–20th with details before the 9th. Confirmation and bank arrival are separate.18,19,20 |
Check your publishing permissions
- Advertising and review pages: DiscoverCars prohibits paid display, PPC, social ads and review-site advertising. Digital agencies and coupon sites need explicit approval. Assess your actual publishing model before participating.15
- Supplied content: Viator requires its defined Travel Product Information to be non-indexable and restricts alteration and marketplace extraction. This is different from independently written editorial content.12
- Site, brand and channel rules: Expedia excludes unfinished construction sites and restricts branded metatags/domains. 12Go allows SEO traffic but lists social, YouTube and email with a White Label condition. Travelpayouts requires offer-specific promotion checks.9,23,7,24
These are material examples, not the complete contract. Read the profile's permissions and editorial obligations alongside your applicable terms. A directory listing does not establish Affiliate Orchard's enrollment or permission to promote a provider.
Are any of these two-tier programs?
Current ongoing second-tier commissions are unconfirmed in this shortlist. The four direct-provider profiles retain Unknown for payment on sales generated by recruited affiliates. Sub-affiliate permission or corporate definitions do not establish a reward.15,12,17,9
Travelpayouts' current version 2 rules describe fixed milestones, up to US$600 per qualifying new referral, requiring qualified paid-booking commission and successful referral withdrawal. CPC earnings, other partner-program revenue and related/self referrals do not qualify; reversals can remove bonuses. That is not an ongoing percentage. Archived 7% terms are not the current new-referral offer; transition and onboarding conflicts remain in the full profile.25,26,27
Build one useful travel page
Hypothetical brief: help a reader choose train, bus or ferry for a specific journey. This is a planning exercise, not a tested itinerary or measured keyword opportunity.
- Record departure/arrival locations, journey time, transfers and total payable cost from current route evidence.
- Compare confirmation, change and cancellation conditions for each actual ticket. Separate merchant information from any firsthand observations you have.
- Shortlist a relevant program only after checking route inventory, payable bookings and permission for your intended links or tools.
Next, use the program-selection lesson to record one shortlisted offer and its unanswered questions, then plan your first page. Read networks versus direct programs if both routes are available.
Sources and coverage limits
We selected distinct booking tasks, supported programs and reviewed terms, rather than sorting unlike percentages. Official snapshots were checked October 7, 2026 and reassessed for this hub; available document dates and check dates appear in the sources. No product, route, tracking, conversion or payout test is claimed.
Hotel-brand specialists, airline-specific offers, local transfers and travel gear remain gaps. Full publisher/customer-country eligibility and accepted account terms remain incomplete where each profile says so. Customer cancellation policies need booking-specific checks; Expedia and network-wide customer remedies were not established in this research.
