Is it a fit for your travel site?

Consider it for destination and road-trip content that helps readers decide whether to rent a car and compare booking options. DiscoverCars compares rentals; its customer terms describe arranged travel packages with vehicles supplied by separate rental companies.1,2

Check your publishing model first. The affiliate agreement prohibits paid display, PPC and social ads, and advertising on review websites. Digital agencies and coupon/discount sites need explicit approval under their respective clauses.3

What the commission is based on

What the commission is based on
Public agreement rateCalculation and limits
70% on rentalsDiscoverCars' profit, not the customer's rental price; completed, tracked eligible bookings, net cancellations.3
30% on Full CoverageAgreement and FAQ say profit; the programme's earnings graphic says revenue. Confirm the applicable base.3,1
Conditional 58% / 25%Applies when a business lacks a valid taxpayer ID and that causes DiscoverCars to pay the tax. It is not a universal alternative rate.3

Those rules come from the public agreement, not an accepted Affiliate Orchard offer. Fraud, bad debt, refunds and cancellations affect eligibility. A booking using any Booking Credit earns no commission.3,1

Hypothetical arithmetic: assume an approved rental has US$20 of eligible profit and uses the standard 70% rate. US$20 × 70% = US$14. The checkout price alone cannot tell you that profit. This example excludes Full Coverage and is not an earnings forecast.

From click to payout

  1. Click and attribution

Advertised cookie: 365 days. The agreement also defines a referral as booking during the same visit. Exact effective credit needs confirmation.3,1

  2. Eligible booking

A later paid-channel visit can disqualify the booking. The 365-day window is not a promise that every later sale earns commission.3

  3. Complete and validate

The rental must be completed. Sales are validated 30 days after drop-off, with cancellations and customer claims relevant.3

  4. Invoice and receive cash

Agreement says the amount must exceed $200, mentions the following month's 10th, and separately uses pickup/invoicing wording. PayPal/bank transfer is described; the exact validation-to-cash schedule remains unclear.3,1

The FAQ describes another commission on a completed rental within the cookie period, subject to the same unresolved conditions. It does not establish subscription fees or rewards from recruited affiliates.1,3

What to explain to travelers

  • Pickup rules vary by supplier. Driver documents, payment cards, deposits and fuel policies have separate rental conditions. The customer terms say conditions provided at pickup prevail over discrepancies on the website.2
  • Cancellation credit is different from cash. Cancellation at least 48 hours before original pickup initially produces Booking Credit. A request for cash reimbursement of eligible original-payment leftovers has a one-year limit and further conditions; late cancellations and no-shows have tighter limits.2
  • Full Coverage does not remove the deposit. It is an optional, country-dependent addition. The terms say supplier deposit requirements remain and it does not replace CDW or existing insurance; voucher limits and exclusions matter.2

Before joining

Second-tier rewards: Unknown. The agreement requires sub-affiliates to be unrelated, independent parties but does not state an override rate, base or duration. Do not turn that clause—or the tracking software's capabilities—into a documented recruitment commission.3,1

Full publisher/customer-country eligibility, payment currency and fees, peer-affiliate click priority and owner promotion permission remain unconfirmed. Applications can be rejected; participation may end and programme terms may change.3,1

Next, read the official programme against your intended page and traffic sources. Use the programme-selection lesson to record the unresolved conditions. For network alternatives, read networks versus direct programmes before assuming identical terms.

Sources and open questions

Official sources checked October 7, 2026: the programme/FAQs, full affiliate agreement, and customer sections 1, 4–6 and 9 covering supplier rules, cancellation and Full Coverage limitations. No reliable effective date or accepted owner agreement was established.1,3,2

Confirm Full Coverage's profit/revenue base, same-visit versus cookie attribution, completion/validation/invoice/cash timing, promotion permission and any actual sub-affiliate override before relying on them. No application, product test or payout test was performed.
